Schenectady- Jerry Naze, 77, passed away at his home on Sunday, December 18, 2016 with his family at his side. He was born on February 26, 1939 in Jamestown, North Dakota to the late Harold and Lola Naze.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958-1961. He went to work for Firestone for 22 years before moving on to be a truck driver for the United States Postal Service for another 22 years.
Jerry loved sports and made countless trips to Cooperstown. He was a member of the Pistol Parlor bowling league at Sunset lanes for 40 years, cherishing the friends and memories he made. Jerry adored his family. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh that could be heard before he was seen.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Marie Naze. He is also survived by his children, Richard, Robert, and Karen (Dave Slurff); 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; his sister, Suzanne (Matt) Cole; sisters-in-law, Rita (Scott) Erfurt and Patti Mueller; brother-in-law, Al Hurd; niece, Amanda; and nephew, Rick as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 from 4pm-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at St. Luke's Church, Schenectady. Interment will follow the mass in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
