Jerry Papa, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday April 12, 2009 at Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home.
Jerry was born in Naples, Italy the son of the late Ralph and Mary Joseph Papa, the youngest of seventeen children all who have predeceased him. He immigrated to the United States in the late 1940's and has resided in America since. Jerry was a self-employed house painter, who was also an accomplished artist. He was a music enthusiast and enjoyed playing the piano and the organ. Jerry was predeceased by his first wife and mother of their daughter Gabrriella (Nocera) Papa and his second wife Edith (Scott) Papa.
He is survived by his daughter Maria Immediato of Mechanicville, and his grandchildren: Gregory Immediato of Albany and Gabrielle Gilchrest of Seattle, WA., and leaves behind nieces and nephews in Italy and New York State.
The family would like to thank Rensselaer County Hospice, St. Mary's Hospital and especially Van Rensselaer Manor Nursing Home for the loving care and support shown to Jerry and the family.
