Gerald W. Reusch, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Known by his friends and family as Jerry, the Cortland, New York-native was born to the late Gerald and Louvisa Reusch.
Jerry has worked at Dell for the last six years as a systems integration consultant, and before that, he worked at Computer Sciences Corporation. Prior to his computer services career, Jerry - a seasoned linguist - spent six years in the U.S. Army, serving as a Russian voice intercept operator at U.S.A. Field Station in Augsburg, Germany.
Outside of his love for The Grateful Dead, Jerry had a passion for nature and everything outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He was someone who knew something about everything, and if he didn't know the answer to something, he'd make it up – because as the Irish say, "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story."
Jerry is survived by his loving sons, Jarrett Mickle, James Mickle and Damian Sebastian Reusch and his beloved partner Harriet Markis, and he is remembered by all for his amazing sense of humor and big heart.
Calling hours will be held from 5pm- 7pm on Friday, March 31, 2017 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A celebration of Jerry's life will begin at 7pm at the funeral home with an opportunity for everyone to share memories. In lieu of flowers, please make a direct donation to Doctors Without Borders.
"You who choose to lead must follow, but if you fall you fall alone. If you should stand then who's to guide you? If I knew the way, I would take you home." – Ripple by The Grateful Dead.
