Jo M. Unser-Crowley

Albany- Jo Ann M. Unser-Crowley, 78, passed away after a courageous battle with dementia on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Josephine Unser. Jo Ann is predeceased by her husband, William Crowley.

Jo Ann graduated with a Masters Degree in nursing. She worked as an RN at the VA Hospital and LaSalle School. She was also a religious education teacher at St. Theresa's in Albany. Her life was her kids and especially her grandkids.

Jo Ann is survived by her children Jo Ann "Missy" Cummins (Dave) and William Stefanik (Michele). She was the loving "Mammy" to Samantha, Amanda, Briannah, Izaias, Harley, Laura, Karrie-Ann, Molly and Jake, great grandchildren, Logan, Aubree, Brooke, Ava and Greyson. She will also be missed by her siblings, Ronald Unser (Connie), Jerry Unser (Kathy), Bridget Schacter (Bob) who was a sister/mother of Jo Ann. In addition she is also survived by several, nieces, nephews and cousins and her second cousins in Savanah, GA.

Jo Ann is reunited in heaven with her granddaughter Jessica Roberts and Gracie Putnam-Price who was her lifelong friend.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 11am-1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. NY 12205. A funeral service will begin at 1pm at the funeral home with entombment following at Our Lady Help of Christians, Glenmont.
