Joan A. Fiske

COLONIE – Joan A. Fiske, 69, of Colonie, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011 at her residence.

She was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late John C. and Eva M. Fisk. She was a graduate of Shaker High School. Joan worked for RPI and then for many years as a secretary at the SUNY @ Albany Library, downtown campus. She was a member of the Colonie Volleyball League. Joan was a longtime member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church and most recently a member of the Staff Parish Relations Committee.

Joan is the beloved Mother of Patty (Len) Tollerton and David (Julie) Oppe. She is the cherished grandmother of Connor and Jackson Tollerton; Zachary and Kayla Oppe. Joan is the sister of Carol N. Shepard, Vicki Gallant and her twin brother, John E. Fisk. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joan will be missed by her canine friend, Harley.

Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Joan A. Fiske.
