Joan A. Jackson, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home.

Joan was the daughter of the late Joseph Reed and Anna Reed.

Joan was the devoted wife to the late Donald K. Jackson. They were married for over 54 years.

Joan worked with both Ellis Hospital and St. Peters Hospital in the Operating Room department and was a member of the Association of Operating Room Nurses for many years.

Joan was an avid skier, was a past member of the Ravena Coeymans Yacht Club and prior to her husbands passing she enjoyed winters in Hawaii for the last 25 years. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Joan was predeceased by her brother William Reed, and her sister Ann Frascinella.
Joan is survived by her son, Jeffrey Jackson, her daughter-in-law Lynn, and four grandchildren; Ashley (Tony) Cuilla, Erin (Bryan) Worrall, Matthew (Britany) and Deanna Lombardo. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Annie and Eleanor Worrall; her sister Edna (Bill) Gillette and her dear friend Bobbi Bates.

Funeral services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Community Hospice 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or to the Alzheimer's Association of NENY Pine West Plaza, Bldg. 4, Suite 405, Washington Avenue Ext. Albany, NY 12205 in Joan's memory.
