Obituary for Joan A. Loudis
ALBANY – Joan A. Loudis, 71, of Albany and Lakeland, FL, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Andone and Mae Swasey Drossos.
Joan worked as a bookkeeper for the Colonie Tennis Club and Bauer Insurance Company for several years. In her free time, she enjoyed puzzles and playing all kinds of games. She also liked tennis, shooting darts, trips to the Racino, and spending time with family and friends.
Joan was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Frank M. Loudis, II, her father-in-law, Raymond F. Loudis, and sister Theresa White.
She is survived by her mother-in-law, Matilda "Tillie" Loudis of Albany; daughters Darcie A. (John) LaGrave of Nassau and Joan D. (Todd) McAuley of Colonie; sons Frank M. (Lindsey) Loudis, III of Loudonville, David M. (Pam) Loudis, Gregg R. Loudis, and Cliff A. (Sue) Loudis, all of Colonie; siblings Helen Gardy, Judy Graham, and Harold Drossos; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Raymond and Mary Jane Loudis; grandchildren Frank IV, Joelle, Laura, Kyle, Trevor, Timothy, Emily, Jenna, Chelsie, Andrew, Branden, and Justin; several nieces and nephews, and dear friend Frank Rocco.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 9:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
