Joan Ann Swanteck

Colonie- Joan Ann Swanteck, 63, reunited with her husband the late Joseph M. Swanteck on Monday, May 1, 2006. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Herman J. and Bertha R. Westphal. Joan was a graduate of Philip Schuyler where she received a business degree. She enjoyed many years as a homemaker and more recently she worked for Pryba, Tobin and Co. as an administrative assistant. Joan was an avid reader, and also enjoyed her crossword puzzles. From a young age and throughout her entire life Joan enjoyed vacationing in the Adirondacks.
Joan is survived by her four beloved children, Joseph M. Swanteck and his wife Jacqueline of Troy, James M. Swanteck of Albany, Lauren C. Myler and her husband Gerry of Summit, NJ., Jennifer A. DiMura and her husband John of Albany and her three cherished grandchildren, Zachary Swanteck, Dillon and Spencer Myler. She also leaves behind her cats Molly and Seamus.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205, in memory of Joan Ann Swanteck.
