Joan M. Benoit

COLONIE--- Joan M. Benoit, age 85, passed away on March 5, 2025.

She was born in Albany, the daughter of the late John and Mildred Harbinger. She was also predeceased by her husband, George Benoit and her sister, Wilma King.

Joan was an accountant in the Accounts Receivable Dept. at JC Penney for over 25 years. She was proud of the fact that she had perfect attendance. Prior to this, she was a court stenographer for NYS.

She enjoyed Bingo and visiting casinos. Elvis Presley was her man!

Joan is survived by her children: Bonnie (Richard) Anson, John (Melissa) Benoit, George (Lynn) Benoit, and Kevin (Yeshica) Benoit; close niece, Barbara Geer; grandchildren: Christina, Jessie, Richard and Jennifer; Neely and Gracie; Nick and George Jr.; Kevin, Keirshtian, Skyler and Savanna. Also survived by 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Monday March 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to share memories of her life at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joan’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of NENY, 1003 New Loudon Road, Cohoes, NY 12047.
