ALBANY - Joan D. Calautti, 87, passed away on Tuesday December 18, 2012 at Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness.
Born in Scranton PA on October 21, 1925 and was the daughter Antonio and Angelina DiLeo. One of twelve children, Joan came to Albany in 1945 and met her husband Julio Calautti and they were married in 1952. Joan was predeceased by her husband Julio in 2007. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and nurturing flowers.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Sherry) Calautti; step grandson Thomas and Debbie Larkin and their daughter Amanda. She is the sister of Antoinette (Ted) Gullo, Lucille Smith, Alice Newton and the late Celia Calautti. Joan is the sister in law of Mike and Josephine Prestipino. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Maria Drive Loudonville. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society in memory of Joan C. Calautti.
