COLONIE- Joan D. Kaminski, 84, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2016 with her loving family by her side after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Joan was born in Albany, NY to the late Henry and Dorothy Planz on September 1, 1931. She was the loving wife of John Kaminski for 65 years. Together they had three children. Joan served as lunch monitor at Shaker Road Elementary for 42 years. She was a life member at Shaker Road Fire Dept., with the Ladies Auxiliary for 58 years. Joan was an EMT for West Albany Ambulance and a medic for Colonie Pop Warner Football.
Joan is survived by her loving husband, John Kaminski, her children; John Kaminski, Christine(Andy) Zostant, Eric (Jeannine) Kaminski, her grandchildren; Kimberly, Christopher, Michael, Amy, Matthew, Melissa, Eric, Kirsten, Hunter, and Nicholas, her cherished 7 great-grandchildren, her sister, Luane Quinn, and many family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A mass of Christian burial will take place at Holy Name of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church, 1040 Pearl Street, Schenectady, NY 12303 at 10:00am. Burial will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan's name to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12203.
