Joan M. Dennehey

February 20, 1943 — January 11, 2024

Joan M. Dennehey, 80, wife of James R. Dennehey of Albany, NY passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at St. Peter's Hospital.

Born in Fort Lee, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John Joseph Maisano and the late Mary Tomasello Maisano.

Joan attended Holy Angels High School in Fort Lee and Trinity College in Burlington, Vermont where she earned her degree in Medical Technology. She worked in hospitals in Vermont, New Jersey and Albany, New York and later worked in Development at the Doane Stuart School and the Albany Girls Academy in Albany. More recently she served as the Moderator of the First Congregational Church in Albany, and also served as the church secretary. As an artist herself, Joan supported the arts programs and served for several years on the board of Vanguard for the Albany Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her son, John Dennehey (Louis Bower-Bannister) of Albany, NY and her sons John Weber of Boonton, New Jersey, and Robert Weber (Kristin) of Maplewood, New Jersey; four grandchildren, Jasmine Weber of Albany, Corey Weber of Madison, Wisconsin, Charles Weber and Joseph Weber of Maplewood, New Jersey. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her sister, Ann Colon.

Friends may call, Friday from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at First Congregational Church, 405 Quail Street, Albany, NY. The service will be at 12:00 pm at the church. A reception will follow at 2:00 PM at The Albany Institute of History and Art.

Donations in her name may be made to the First Congregational Church, Albany NY, or to Planned Parenthood of Albany.
