SCHENECTADY, NY – Joan Disbrow, 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Mt. Loretto Nursing Home after a short illness. She was a lab technician for the former Bender Laboratory for 36 years before retiring. After her retirement, Joan volunteered at the City Mission and Equinox. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and active in their choir for 15 years. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Claude and Lucile Disbrow. She is the beloved sister of Ellen (Dana) Lane of Guilderland. She is the cherished aunt of Melissa (Rick) Prior, Crystal (Drew) Thomas and Shannon Lane. She is the cherished great-aunt of Joshua Thomas. Also surviving is her beloved family friend, Maura Clark. Joan will be missed by her faithful feline companions, Chelsea and Sashi. The family would like to thank Pastor Steve Clunn, the nurses on A5 at Ellis Hospital and the staff of Mt. Loretto Nursing Home for the care and compassion they gave to Joan and her family.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
