Milheron, Joan
CLIFTON PARK -Joan Milheron Pfister (Rizzo) died on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Albany Memorial Hospital after several infections.
She was born in Queens, NY on May 18, 1930 and was the daughter of John and Mary Poole Rizzo. She married Frank Pfister in 1953 and Frank Milheron in 1991. She was a homemaker in Massapequa, Long Island and St Thomas, Virgin Islands. She spent the last 15 years living in West Palm Beach, Florida but moved to Clifton Park in 2013 to be near her daughter.
She enjoyed a variety of jobs when selling World Book Encyclopedias, developing photos, photographing tourists and cooking on sailing charters. She loved to entertain, travel, sew and interior decorate. She enjoyed many cruises and her ashes will be scattered over the warm Caribbean Seas that she loved and lived near. She was a red-head 98% of the time.
She was a loving wife and also a beloved mother to Laura DeBernardo Perrault of Clifton Park and Jami Pfister of St Thomas, VI. She was a grandmother to Colin DeBernardo of Atlanta, GA and Scott DeBernardo of Clifton Park.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, May 10, 2014 from 10 to 11:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie. A Memorial prayer will held at 11:15.
