Joan (Stiffen) Strohmaier, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Joan was born in Albany to the late, Edward and Elizabeth Stiffen. Joan loved to play Bingo, travel and spend time with her family. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her loving husband, Carl Strohmaier, her granddaughter, Crystal VanEpps and her two brothers, James and Edward Stiffen.
Joan is survived by her beloved children, Raymond (Janine) Rowe, Kathleen Montague, Daniel (Carmen) VanEpps and Ken (Beth) VanEpps. She is the sister of, John, Frank, Betty (Wesley) Davis, Joe (Alice), Marylee (Victor) Brush, Tom (Sue) and Bob (Mary) Stiffen. She is the proud grandmother of, Christina, Daniel, Stephanie, Jacob and Christopher. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ava and Aiden and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Monday at 9 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
