LOUDONVILLE - Joan G. Dennis, 81, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital as a result of a chronic illness.
Joan was born on December 8, 1931 to the late Norma and Alfred Gassette in Burlington, Vermont where she was raised and educated. She became a registered nurse from Mary Fletcher Hospital, now the UVM Medical Center. She married Dr. Norman F. Dennis Jr. in 1954 and they were together for over 55 years; he passed away in 2010. She was a long time member of the St. Peter's Hospital Auxiliary and a volunteer at the Town of Colonie Library.
Joan is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Steven C. Dennis and Sheila Daley Dennis of Newport Beach, California; her two grandsons, Benjamin Dennis of Washington, DC and Grant Dennis of Dallas, Texas and her sister-in-law, Shirley Dennis Hallisey.
Services will be private for the family only.
