ALBANY-Joan S. (Nantista) Hallenbeck, 69, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 21, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Dominic Nantista and survived by her mother, Shirley Nantista. She was employed by the Teresian House in Albany as a beautician and caregiver for several years. Joan was a caring and loving mother, sister, and grandmother to her family.
Joan was the loving mother to the late Richard Hallenbeck and survived by Kimberly Hallenbeck, Christina Rowinski (Jeff) and Nicole Torres (Benito). She was nana to Amber, Karina, Austin, Benito, Hunter, and Aleesia. Joan was the sister to the late Joyce Raymond and survived by Sandra Stealey, Diane Domangue and David Nantista, several nieces, nephews and other family. Joan, mom and nana was so loved and will be missed by all that knew her.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 from 11:00 to 12:00PM with a funeral service to immediately follow at 12:00 PM at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
