Joan Haller

January 16, 1925 — June 4, 2014

Our beloved mother, Joan Haller, 89, was reunited with her late husband on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, on their 65th wedding anniversary. She died peacefully with her family by her side at St. Peters Hospital, Albany.

She was born in Albany to the late Elmer and Helen Dale. Joan was a graduate from Vincentian Institute in Albany. She was a life member of the Fuller Road Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of Our Lady of Mercy Rosary Society.

While raising her family, Joan worked for the Albany Roman Catholic Dioceses as a receptionist for the Catholic School Office.

After retirement Joan and her husband, Andy successfully operated the Wayside Inn Restaurant at the Rockledge Resort in Lake George for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew W. Haller Sr., her son Andrew Haller Jr. and her infant son, Robert Haller , her siblings Elmer "Bud" Dale, Richard "Dick" Dale, Delores "Dee" Gendron and Helen Charles.

She is survived by her loving children; William "Dale" Haller of Colonie, Michael (Sue) Haller of Colonie, David (Barbara) Haller of Latham and her beloved son Andrew's devoted companion Jacqueline "Jackie" Meyer. She is the beloved grandmother of Robert (Joanne), JoAnn (Ryan), Kristen, Kevin, Daniel, Alexa and Ryan. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the entire staff, nurses and aides at the McAuley Residence in Albany for all of their care and compassion given to their mom.

As an animal lover, memorial contributions can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Ave. Menands, NY 12204 in Joan's memory.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Church. Interment will follow the Mass in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
