NEW YORK CITY – Joan Patricia Heckroth, 73, of Astoria, Queens, died on Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Queens, NY after a brief illness.
Joan was born on June 6, 1931 in New York City to the late Raymond and Grace E. Marsh Heckroth.
Joan was a dental assistant to Dr. Martin Ackerman in Queens for over 35 years. She loved the outdoors, visiting family and friends, enjoyed exercising and staying young at heart.
Joan is survived by her four sisters, Arlene (Arnie) Metzold, Gerri (Ralph) Campolungo, Patricia (Walt) Dunham and Debra (Vince) DiMoro, all of Schenectady; her three brothers, Joseph (Angie) Feulner Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Robert (Barbara) Feulner of Schenectady, and Daniel Feulner of Laughlin, NV. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Heckroth and her stepfather, Joseph Feulner Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Schenectady. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, the American Lung Association or to the American Cancer Society in memory of Joan Patricia Heckroth.
