Joan Mitchell

Menands – Joan M. Mitchell, 94, passed away peacefully at her residence on January 1, 2015. Born in Rensselaer, she is the daughter of the late Mary and Thomas Seymour.

Joan and her late husband William resided in Naples, FL for 20 years after their retirement, where they enjoyed the sun and were avid golfers. Joan was a devoted mother and loving grandmother who will be missed dearly by her family.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Susan (Robert) Allen; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 65 years, William S. Mitchell; her son Thomas W. Mitchell; and her 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Joan on Wednesday January 7th at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc, 76 Menand Rd. Albany, NY 12204. Inurnment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery.
