JOAN McGRATH RUPPENTHAL
Joan McGrath Ruppenthal, 84, of Schenectady, NY,
passed away on Sunday September 8, 2013. She was born to the
late Thomas and Elizabeth (Gregoire) McGrath in
Buffalo, NY on March 12, 1929. Joan met her
husband, Harvey Ruppenthal in Kensington High
School and later were married on August 22, 1953
in St. James R.C. Church, Buffalo. For 48 years,
they were happily married until Harvey's passing
in 2001. Joan will be dearly missed by family,
cousins, and many friends.
Joan is survived by her son, Steven (Susan)
Ruppenthal and her daughter, Nancy
Ruppenthal Weidman and by granddaughters,
Samantha and Shelby Ruppenthal of Albany.
Other survivors are her brother, Roger McGrath,
of Leroy, NY and sister, Patricia (Eugene) Zdrowak
of Leesburg, FL nephews Brian (Deb), Keith
(Amy) Zdrowak and Mike (Sally) Ruppenthal, and niece Debora (Rod) Stewart.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM at
New Comer Cannon Funeral Home in Albany, NY on
Friday September 13, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be given to The Community Hospice Foundation
