Cohoes- Joann R. Reed, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2017. Born in Troy, NY she was the daughter of the late Ruth and Nicholas Maselli Sr. Joann is survived by her husband of 55 years, William A. Reed.
Joann enjoyed traveling with William and the rest of the family as well as camping. She loved animals and loved feeding the birds every morning. In 2001, Joann was the First Lady of the Oriental Shriners of Troy, NY and supported them throughout the years. Above all Joann loved spending time with her family especially with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending her winters in Zephyrhills, FL to avoid the cold weather.
In addition to her husband, Joann is survived by her children, James D. Reed (Linda), David W. Reed, Nicholas A. Reed and Eric K. Reed (Hyla). She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Robert, Nich, Jessica and Brea and great grandchild. Joann also leaves behind her specials friends, Mary Maselli & Donna Dennis and several nieces and nephews.
Joann is predeceased by her two brothers, Joseph M. Maselli and Nicholas J. Maselli Jr.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to: Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive Tampa, FL 33607 or the Hudson Mohawk Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
