GUILDERLAND - Joanne Evelyn Moody passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at her home with her husband and son by her side. Joanne was born in 1937 in Albany and lived most of her life in Guilderland, including graduating from Guilderland Central High School's Class of 1955.
Joanne is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Wesley; her son Gary (Karen); and two grandchildren Geoff (Beth) and Kristen (Cooper). She was preceded in death by her father Alden S. Gerard, and her mother Evelyn Gerard.
She relished time spent with Wes, whether going to their camp at Indian Lake, traveling to Florida, working on various home projects or puttering in her garden. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed entertaining both friends and family. Throughout her life, Joanne was always active and enjoyed snow and water skiing, square dancing, going to auctions and yard sales, and traveling. She especially enjoyed trips to our national parks and the Canadian Rockies as she truly appreciated nature's beauty.
Interment will be at Memory Gardens in Colonie at the convenience of the family. Those who wish to honor her memory may make a contribution to The Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Road, Albany NY 12205 or to a charity of one's choice.
