Albany- Joanne C. Gray, 91, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice on October 13, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.
Joanne was born on October 29, 1930 in New Rochelle NY. She is a 1950 graduate of New Rochelle High School, and a 1954 graduate of Oswego College. She taught at Guilderland Central School District as a first grade teacher for 37 years. Joanne was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nana and sister. She had a love for artwork, especially that of her father Ugo Mochi. She also enjoyed opera and attending plays. Her favorite places to vacation with her family were Loon Mountain, NH and Williamsburg, VA. Many happy memories were made on these trips.
Joanne is survived by her loving husband of sixty years Douglas Gray; daughter Nancy Rafferty (James Beach); son Mark Gray; son-in-law Matthew Rafferty; grandson Blake Rafferty (Carlie Jostlin); sister Jeanne Tartaglia; brother-in-law Jerry Melucci; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Ugo Mochi and Edna Skeleton; aunt Enid Skeleton; sister-in-law Linda Melucci; and brother-in-law Dr. Anthony Tartaglia.
Services will be held at a future date.
