Joanne I. Gilbert

Joanne I. Gilbert, 54, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters. Joanne was born in Niskayuna to Robert and Josephine Christopher. She worked for the New York State thruway for many years, but her life was truly devoted to her family. She was a devoted daughter and a loving mother, and cherished every moment with her family.
Joanne is survived by her beloved sons, Josh, Sean and Greg Gilbert. She was the devoted wife of over 25 years to Dan Gilbert. She is the sister of MaryAnn VanBlarcom and Joyce Christopher and the aunt of Christopher and Kelly. She is also survived by many close family members and friends. She was predeceased by her nephew, Jeffrey.
A Memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 11 to 2 at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
