Slingerlands, NY - Joanne O. Jones, 81, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024.
She was born on May 15, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Seaborn Jones and Olga Banadics.
Joanne's early years were spent in Ellenville, New York, where she resided with her parents and grandparents, Kalman and Mary Banadics. After her father's passing, she moved to Albany with her mother to be close to her family. Joanne became a volunteer at St Peter's Hospital earning recognition for her many years and thousands of hours of service at the Information Desk.
Joanne was most happy spending time with her family and her many close friends. She was a very dear and devoted Aunt to her nephews, and they shared a very close and special bond. She will always be remembered by those closest to her as a fun loving, adventurous and generous friend. She will be missed.
Joanne is survived by her brother William S. Jones and his wife Adrienne Jones of Slingerlands, along with her two nephews, Damian S. Jones and Seaborn W. Jones, and their partners, Ruth Trinchillo and Brian Pastiglione—all of whom cherished and adored her deeply and held a special place in her heart. Additionally, she is survived by her cousin Marlene Moran of Summitville. She was predeceased by her long-time friend Patricia A. Dotson.
Friends are invited to join the family for a Memorial Mass at 10 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell Street, Albany. A private burial will be held at Fantinekill Cemetery in Ellenville, NY at a later date.
Joanne's legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her. May she rest in eternal peace.
