Joel M. Winkler Sr.
April 18, 1962 — December 7, 2022
Rotterdam-Winkler, Joel Michael Sr.,60, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on December 7, 2022.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Alice Winkler; children Jennifer M. Smith (Nick), Joel Michael Winkler Jr ( Erika), Kayla A. Winkler (Nick Rice) and his grandchildren David Jr, Dominick, Aiden, Alexis and Joel Michael Winkler III, sisters, Joanna Laine and Joanmarie Cassaniti . He is predeceased by his grandson Nicholas E Smith Jr.
He was a valued and dedicated employee of Regional Food Bank of NENY for 26 years prior to retiring in 2018.
Joel was a loving husband and father. If asked, Joel would say his greatest accomplishment was his family. He had a self sacrificing devotion to his family both immediate and extended, always putting others before himself and spent many years caring for others . He was private and stoic, never wishing to impose on anyone, a man of integrity, loyalty with an incredible work ethic. Those who knew and loved him will remember him always. He will forever be in our hearts.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York
