COHOES – Joella E. (Kemp) Timberlin, 77, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 after a brief illness.
She was born in Montgomery, AL on November 5, 1946 a daughter of the late A.J. Kemp, Sr. and Dorothy (Chapple). Joella graduated from Lansingburgh High School.
She was employed for over twelve years for the Computer Science Corporation in Albany then DST Systems in Cohoes for several years until her retirement in 2009.
Joella enjoyed reading and crocheting, making blankets for her family members. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her husband, Allen. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family and her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son, Bryan Wilhelm.
Joella is survived by her husband of twenty-seven years, Allen; her son Bernie (Veronica) Wilhelm; her daughter, Stephanie (Jeff) Johnson; her three stepdaughters, Dawn (Shawn) Morton, Wendy (David) Frink and Jennifer (Chris) Reedy; her grandchildren, including, Alexandrya Wilhelm, Amanda Riley, Cheyne Wilhelm and Jeffrey Johnson and several great grandchildren; her siblings, Sanford (Jean) Kemp, Sonya (late John) Nazarian, A.J. (late Nancy) Kemp, Jr., and Cheryl (Jeff) Vaughn. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 3:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet.
