Joffre L. Authier

ALBANY – Joffre L. Authier, 87, passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at his home surrounded by family members.
Joffre was born on July 15, 1918 in Troy and was the son of the late Charles E. and Marie Louise (Giard) Authier. Joffre was an auditor with New York State Department of Taxation and Finance for over 34 years, before retiring in 1975.
Joffre was an avid fisherman and spent many happy times with family and friends at his log cabin on Saranac Lake.
Joffre is survived by his sisters-in-law, Eugenia T. Miele and her husband Mario of Albany, Louise Draisey and her husband Walter of Altamont and Marcella Cross and her husband Raymond of LaGrangeville, NY. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Joffre was predeceased by his devoted wife of 50 years, Catherine M. DeMare Authier, his sister, Marie Terrault and his brothers-in-law, Salvatore, Nicholas and Michael DeMare.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 12 noon at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
