NISKAYUNA – Johanna "Joanie" Olsen, 83, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Glendale Nursing Home in Glenville.
Joanie was born on July 12, 1929 in Woodside, LI, NY and was the daughter of the late John Helma and Louise (Held) Olsen. She had a love for children and worked as a day care provider for New Life Academy in Niskayuna before retiring. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Rexford where she was very active with their Vacation Bible School and the Church Lental Dinners. She also adored animals.
Joanie is survived by her loving twin sister, Anna Olsen of Niskayuna and her cousin, Eleanor Amorosi of Rexford.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday. Interment will be held at Park View Cemetery in Schenectady.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Joanie.
