John A. Burns, Jr.

COLONIE – John A. Burns, Jr., 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Born in Petersburg, NY he was the son of the late John and Grace Burns. Mr. Burns has resided in Colonie since 1963. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during the Korean War. John worked for First Albany Corporation for twenty-five years and Macy's for twenty-six years. He was a communicant of St. Clare's Church in Colonie. John enjoyed photography, bowling, visiting the ocean and vacationing in Maine. He is the beloved husband of fifty years to Mary A. Burns. He is the devoted father of John A. Burns, III of Latham and the cherished grandfather of Heather and Michelle Burns.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
