Born November 7, 1942, in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late John H. Albert, Sr., and Margaret (Fischer) Albert. John was a graduate of Schuyler High School and worked for Schenectady Offset Printing, Walter Motor Truck, General Electric, and Corporate Graphics. He was a talented and knowledgeable technician, working in all phases of photography, printing, and copy camera work.
He enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks at the family camp in Pepper Hollow and vacationing in Fort Myers, Florida. John loved cruising in his 1990 Dodge Dakota pickup truck, his most prized possession.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Annette Albert, on April 6, 2022. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Fred, Tim, and Bruce Albert; his parents-in-law, Joseph and Loretta Prud'homme; and his brother-in-law, Frank Prud'homme.
He is survived by his children, Victoria (Doug Kuczek) Albert and John J. (Tina) Albert; grandchildren, Amaya, Zoe, and Sofia Albert; and by his sister, Pam (Bill) Holcomb; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank the Pine Plains and Physical Therapy staff at the Glendale Nursing Home for providing our Dad with excellent care over the past five years.
John was a friend to everyone he met. His love, laughter, and light will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him...especially the two of us who were fortunate enough to call him "Dad".
