John August

BALLSTON SPA – John August, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late Peter and Margaret August. John lived in Schenectady for most of his life. He worked for St. Paul the Apostle Church and School in Schenectady, retiring after over forty years of service. John enjoyed watching television, especially boxing and old movies. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his beloved son, John August, Jr. John is the devoted father of Robyn August, Margaret Bonitatibus, and Debbie Stewart. He is the cherished grandfather of Melissa, Trisha, Tara, Gavin, Corine, Jimmy, Carissa,and Ashleigh. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services will be Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of John August.
