ALBANY- John J. Bellanger of Albany passed away suddenly on Wednesday March 2, 2005 on his 76th birthday. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late John and Grace Bellanger. John was a longtime member of Local 294 and drove truck for Tanney's Motor Transportation in Albany for several years. More recently he drove for Mobile Air before his retirement. He enjoyed bowling and golfing.
John is the beloved husband of fifty four years to Jean MacHaffie Bellanger. He is the devoted father of Patricia Lawson of Albany and Virginia Spraker of Guilderland. He is the brother of Donald, Richard, and Ralph Bellanger, Beverly LeFleur and the late Robert Bellanger. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren , 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. John's-St. Ann's Church at 10:30 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 7 Washington Square, Albany NY 12205.
