John Biggerstaff

NISKAYUNA - John E. Biggerstaff, 73, of Niskayuna, passed away at his residence on Friday after a long illness. He was born in Burnt Hills and was the son of the late John and Anna Winfield Biggerstaff Sr.
John was a Navy veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a proud member of Local 7 Plumbers & Steamfitters in Albany for many years. John was the former President of Stanford Heights Fire Dept. He was a member of the Adirondack Modeler's Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. John will always be remembered as a good man that was cherished by his family and friends.
He is the beloved husband of 53 years to Barbara A. Biggerstaff. He is the devoted father of John (Gail) Biggerstaff III, Mark E. Biggerstaff and Brent L. Biggerstaff. He is the brother of Beverly (Orville) Cavert, June Woodruff and Bobbie Himmelwright. He is the proud grandfather of Christine, Matthew, Melissa and Mark Biggerstaff. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 3 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to Stanford Heights Fire Dept., 2240 Central Ave Schenectady, NY 12309 in memory Of John E. Biggerstaff Jr.
