John G. "Mickey" Boncaro, 90, husband to the late Susan E. Boncaro of Albany NY, passed away on Monday April 3, 2023 at St. Peter's Hospice.
Born on November 10, 1932, in Albany, NY, he was the son of the late John L. and Clara (Spanbauer) Boncaro.
After serving in the Army during the Korean War, Mickey began his career as a Manager at The Lowe Brothers Paint Company in Albany NY, and then became Manager at Terminal Hardware Inc., Albany NY. He later retired from the Town of Colonie Sanitary Landfill "the Dump", where he worked as the Scale-House operator.
Mickey was a devoted husband of 51 years to Susan, and they raised five beautiful children together. They would enjoy vacationing with family. They loved traveling to Rochester to spend time with their sons and their families. He found great joy in helping those he loved with projects around their house; Duct tape could solve any problem!
He is survived by his children, Paul D. (Denise) Boncaro, Deborah A. (William) Burke, David M. (Rebecca) Boncaro, Nancy E. (Dan) Tetreault, Anthony J. (Terri) Boncaro; grandchildren Danielle, Andrew (Courtney), Jennifer, Dustin (Alyssa), Valerie (Marley), Melanie, Randy, Brian, Katelyn, Kevin; great-grandchildren Rileigh, Bryson, Declan, Audrie; step-brothers Scott and Steven; and several nieces, nephews and cousin.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Community Hospice for their excellent care of John and the entire family during his stay at St. Peter's Hospital.
