John C. Franz, Iii

GREEN ISLAND – John C. Franz, III, 65, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Chatham, he was the son of the late John C. and Dorothy E. (Fuller) Franz, II.
John worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass for 20 years. He was an avid reader and Boston Red Sox fan.
John is survived by his sons, John C. (Pauline), IV of Brunswick and Jason C. (Mary) Franz of Beverly, MA, and grandchildren Cheyenne, Alyssa, Evan, Avery, and Emily. He was a loving brother to his siblings and a caring uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Peter's Cardiac and Vascular Center for their wonderful care.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday at 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343, New Karner Road, Colonie. Memorial calling hours will be held prior to the service from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Peter's Hospital Foundation, 319 South Manning Blvd., Suite 114, Albany, NY 12208 in John's memory.
