John C. Heidrich

Troy- John Heidrich, 87, passed away peacefully at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy on April 10, 2015.

Born in Albany, John was the son of the late John and Martha (Wartman) Heidrich, "Jackie" to his beloved sister, the late Elizabeth H. Gray, wife of Donald. John's beloved and cherished wife of 58 years, Sally Ann Pecor Heidrich, predeceased him on April 16, 2012.

John was a graduate of the Philip Schuyler High School. He then served his country in the US Army during WWII. A long time officer in the US Army Reserve; he left active service in 1974 with the rank of Major. He became a Bell Telephone lineman, then enjoyed a lifelong career with New York Telephone, rising to a supervisor position as a computer programmer before retiring in 1985.

John was a lifetime member of the Masons, Elks, and Pine Grove Methodist Church.
John is the loving father of John, Bill (Linda), Debbie (Tim Colaneri) and Janice (Scott Vunk); the cherished grandfather of John, TJ, Nick and Ben; great-grandfather of the late Brook Morgan Heidrich and 4 year old Morgan Heidrich; John is also survived by two nieces.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 16 from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 7 pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

John was always an animal lover. In his honor, memorial contributions may be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Albany, NY 12204
