John C. Poracky, 89, passed away on October 22, 2009. He was the son of the late Charles and Maria Poracky. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and Albany Business College. John served in the US Marine Corp. from 1943 - 1946. He retired with 40 years of service from General Electric. John had a great love for photography, flying, riding motorcycles and dancing with his wife, Peggy. John is survived by his wife, Margaret (Fichtner) Poracky whom he married in 1937. His two sons, James (Grace) Poracky and Richard Poracky and friend Janet Judge. His granddaughter Deborah (Michael) Greenbaum and his great-grandson, Scott. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Hartman and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00. Interment will follow the service at St. Cyril's Cemetery, Rotterdam.
