John W. Clark of Clifton Park, NY departed this life on Sunday, December 05,2021.

John was raised in Rome, NY and came to Albany at the age of 15. He attended the Albany Public school system and graduated from Phillip Schuyler High School in the Class of 1960. As a young man he worked in the Learner Shops. His friends called him "Jackie Wilson", and named him the best looking and best dressed young man in the city of Albany. He later became a member of Local 190 Construction & General Laborers Union until his retirement. He was also a supervisor employed by Montgomery Wards in Albany, NY until they closed.

John was predeceased by sister, Mary Dell; three brothers: Robert Clark, Edward Singletary, and Jasper Singletary.

He loved to laugh and make jokes, go fishing, and he bowled in a league. On any given day (rain or shine) you could find John, his sons, and friends along the Mohawk River in Vischers-Ferry, NY laughing and catching fish, with a cup of coffee; or in the park playing baseball with family, neighbors, and friends. John was also a great cook and loved to barbecue, swim, and entertain in the backyard.

As a small child John was introduced to Christ in Rome NY and became an altar boy in a Catholic church. In 1973, John joined the Church of Christ under the late Reverend Neil. He was baptized and began studies to become a minister. He later joined the Mount Olive Southern Missionary Baptist Church of Albany, NY under Reverend Willie J. Stovall. John loved to sing and joined the "Mount Olive Male Chorus" and became their Sergeant of Arms. Better known to the choir members as Sarge, he was always on time and gave his all to be apart of being able to "Give GOD THE GLORY" through song and praise.

When you think of John, think of his love of GOD, think of him as now singing in the "HEAVENLY CHOIR".
