John G. Contakos

John G. Contakos of Rotterdam passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 12, 2020.
John graduated from Mohanosen High School. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycles, fast cars and most of all his daughters. He was also close to his brothers.
John is survived by his loving mother, Katina Kounoupis Contakos; his daughters, Katina and Adrianna Contakos; his two brothers, George (Christine) Contakos of California and Chris (Justine) Contakos of Latham; his nieces, Cerissa, Georgie and MaryJane; his Aunt Cindy Kounoupis, Uncle Gus Kounoupis and Aunt Maria Contakos. He is survived by his girlfriend Alison Bigness and her children, Justin and Samantha. John is also survived by many cousins, family and friends.
John is predeceased by his father, Gus Contakos.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189 on Sunday, December 20, 2020 from 1pm to 4pm with a Trisagion service to immediately follow at 4pm. Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements. Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
