SCHENECTADY – John D. Scicchitano, 80 passed away on Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Teresian House.
John was born on July 12, 1928 in Syracuse and was the son of the late Salvatore and Vittoria (Procopio) Scicchitano. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948. He received his Bachelors degree in Economics from Siena College. He worked as a bartender for many years at many area restaurants lastly retiring from Cornell's Restaurant in Schenectady. He enjoyed the company of many friends and fine food at Ricatello's Restaurant.
John is survived by his sons, John S. (Florence) Scicchitano of Washington, DC and David M. (Susan) Scicchitano of Delmar; his grandsons, Daniel D. and Nicholas M. Scicchitano; his brothers, Frank (Rose) Scicchitano of Sherman Oaks, CA and Dominic Scicchitano of Colonie; his sisters, Esther Cain of Roanoke, VA and Connie (Jerry) Krystek of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Salvatore and Benjamin Scicchitano.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (TODAY) at the Infant of Prague Chapel at the Teresian House. A calling hour will precede the mass from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Teresian House.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Teresian House, 200 Washington Ave. Ext., Albany, NY 12203 in memory of John D. Scicchitano.
