COLONIE- John A. D'Angelo Sr., 74, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2017.
John was born in Albany, NY to the late Daniel and Frances D'Angelo on February 8, 1943. John went to Colonie High School, and after graduation he served his country honorably in the United States Army. In 1963 John married the love of his life, Catherine. Together they had one son, John Jr. John worked for Agway, Schaffer Brewery, and Broadway Building Supply. John retired from the City of Albany at DGS. John will be remembered for his love of playing cards and drinking red wine. His passion in life was spending time at home with his family, especially with his granddaughter, Olivia.
John is predeceased by his beloved wife, Catherine, his siblings, Lucretia "Lou" Paganelli, and Anthony "Tony" D'Angelo.
He is survived by his son, John (Gynine) D'Angelo, his granddaughter, Olivia D'Angelo, his special niece, Cindy, his sisters, Emma Wilson, and Joan Quagliaroli, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 9:00am-11:00am with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
