John R. Derico passed away on February 23, 2015 at Albany Medical Center. He was 73.
He was the son of Anna Derico of Cohoes and the late John P. Derico, he was born in Troy on January 19, 1942. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, a loyal Yankees fan and was retired from Ford Motor Company.
He was predeceased by his wife Donna J. Derico and his sister Eve Vozzy. In addition to his mother, John is survived by two sons and one daughter; his one brother and one sister; and several close family members.
Visitation will be held from 10 am to 12 pm on Monday, March 2, 2015 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm following the visitation. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Guilderland.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in John's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
