Mechanicville- John "Jack" DeRusso Jr., 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jack was born on May 4, 1942 in Albany and was the son of the late John DeRusso Sr. and Loretta (Doyle) and Will Weidman. He served in the US Army from 1959 to 1962, attaining the rank of Private First Class. He worked for the Local 190 in Albany for many years and then went on to work at College of Nano Science and Engineering as the clean room supervisor for ten years before retiring. He was an avid NY Yankee fan where he attended four spring training games. He enjoyed traveling to Florida and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Mechanicville Elks, Joseph E. Zaloga Post American Legion - where he was a Legion Rider, the Patriot Guard Riders and the Moose Lodge in Sebring, FL.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Starr D'Ambro; his children, John J. DeRusso (Dawn Leto), Johnna M. Snide (Ron) and Christine M. Toleman (Christopher); his step-children, Michael D'Ambro (Moria) and James D'Ambro (Audra), his grandchildren, Anne-Marie and Angelina DeRusso, Shannon, Danielle, Corey and Jenna Snide, Anthony DeRusso, Breanna and Nyla Toleman, and Keira and Storm D'Ambro; his great grandson, Michael Christopher Basile; his siblings, Joan Leveroni (Bill), Kate Huston (John) and Sally Mangan. He was predeceased by his siblings, Delores Kelly and Jean Nedeau.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 2001 Route 9, Round Lake, NY. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
