SCHENECTADY – John E. (Jack) Fraking, Jr., 66, of Schenectady, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2005 at his home, after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of the late John E. and Anna Fraking. Mr. Fraking was a Schenectady resident for all of his life. Jack was a U.S. Air Force Green Beret veteran. He worked for Hillside Elementary School in Niskayuna from where he retired. Mr. Fraking was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he served as a trustee for many years. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing softball. Jack is the beloved husband of Mary Ann O'Brien Fraking. He is the devoted father of John E. Fraking, III of Scotia, Christopher P. Fraking of Virginia, Dean D. Fraking and Terrence R. Fraking, both of Schenectady. He is the brother of Richard Fraking of Schenectady. Jack is also survived by seven cherished grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of John E. Fraking, Jr.
