GUILDERLAND – John Gregory Zwolinski passed away on Tuesday, December 06, 2011 at Dutch Manor Nursing Home. Born in Schenectady on April 12, 1925 he was the son of the late Mary and John Zwolinski. He attended St. Joseph's High School. John served in the U.S. Army 109th Anti-Aircraft Artillery during World War II during the invasion of France, Belgium and Germany. Following the war, he served in the Army National Guard until 1961. John was employed by the General Electric Company before his retirement. His beloved wife, Inez preceded him in death on November 26, 2011. John is survived by his daughter, Mary of Albany; his sisters-in-law, Janine (Francis) Lordi of Glenville and Mary Slingerlands of Rotterdam. Also surviving are his nephews, Kurt McKeone and Guy and Wyatt Gething. The family is grateful for the love and attention provided by the staff of Dutch Manor and Schenectady County Hospice.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
