SCHAGHTICOKE – John J. Gleason, 78 passed away on July 20, 2024, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late John and Helene (Brouker) Gleason. John grew up in Rensselaer and Albany. To be exact, he grew up in his beloved North Albany. He was educated at Phillip Schuyler High School.
John was a volunteer at Albany Medical Center, he was a 1950's Doo Wop aficionado and a skilled “repairman”. He knew how to fix anything and in particular televisions. John started his career at Ray’s Supply moving on to Lexington Vacuum and finally to Madison Radio and TV where he eventually became the owner. Of course, he loved having a cup of coffee with his customers after the work was completed.
John is survived by his beloved brother Richard, sister-in-law Roseann and nephews David (Mary) & Matthew (Nora) Gleason. He is also survived by several cousins, great nieces & nephews and good friend Mary Vitela.
John was predeceased by his loving partner of 35 years Lisa Loucks. Rest in peace John you will be missed!
