John J. Gustin

Albany- John J. Gustin "Goose", "Buca" ,62,passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Born in Albany he was the son of the late Donald and Dorothy Gustin.

John was employed by OD HECK before working for Albany High School as a security guard. He volunteered his time to help out with the football program. He also was a sportscaster for the basketball team for Albany High. His last job was working for City of Albany in the Recreation Department where he retired from. John was very active in the Albany River Rats booster club where he was the president of the club. John was a very active fan for the woman's lacrosse team for the University of Albany.

John is survived by girlfriend, Debbie Guilbault. He will also be missed by his nephew, David Ciraulo (Brittany); niece, Jessica Hume (Kevin); sister in law Patty Ciraulo (Phil), two great nephews, Anthony and Dominic Ciraulo and great niece, Lainey Hume.

John is predeceased by his brother Donald Gustin Jr. and sister Tina Gustin.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 4pm-8pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral ceremony will be held on Thursday at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10am at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
