Albany-
John J. Hammond,67, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, March 2. Born and raised in Albany, he was the son of the late James and Mary Hammond.
John worked for many years of his life providing service for Meals on Wheels. He loved his job and helping people who needed it most.
John loved his sports and was a die hard Yankees Fan. He also loved the outdoor life, camping and being with his family and friends. He also had a passion for listening to music as well.
He is survived by his brothers, James (Claudia), Millard (late wife Alice), William (Charleen), Thomas (Dorothy), Roy and Lee, his cousin and caretaker Tina Broadhurst, as well as his big loving family including many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
A visitation will take place on Thursday March 11 from 5pm-7pm, with a service will be held Friday March 12 at 10 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie NY 12205.
Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rensselear.
